Pelican Events & Catering was opened in 1967 and has been an important part of Durham Region and the surrounding area since, offering catering options, event design, and rental items. In 2005 Pelican Events and Catering entered a new era with Chef Kumar Muraleetharan taking on ownership; after working within the hospitality industry and his background with companies such as Hilton, Hyatt, and Starwood Hotels and Resorts, it was a natural transition and an exciting venture for Chef Kumar to undertake. Under Chef Kumar’s leadership, Pelican Events and Catering has been able to expand and continue to grow within the catering industry.
Our staff takes pride in the service, quality of food, and attention to detail allowing the company to achieve the highest level of catering expected by their clients.
Part of our passion is demonstrated in our in-house pastry shop where fresh cakes and desserts are made each day to serve during customers’ events, meetings, and special occasions. Pastries, cakes, and desserts are also available to buy without the need of booking an event or meeting.
